Persuasive Letter - Dinosaur English Planning
Suitable for KS1

This series of lessons is a lot of fun! The children will watch a video of Andy from Andy’s Dinosaur Adventures, they will then listen to the story Never Show a T-Rex a Book! by Rashmi Sirdeshpande & Diane Ewen. The children will then write a persuasive letter convincing Andy to show (or not show) a book to a T-rex!

This plan includes 5 days of planning with the below WALTs (as well as a WAGOLL):

1. Understand what persuasion is.
2. Find the features of a persuasive letter.
3. Plan our persuasive letter.
4. Write a letter.
5. Write a letter.

This plan includes 4 levels of differentiation;
Red 1 - SEN children
Yellow 2 - Main task with a scaffold
Green 3 - Main task
Blue 4 - Greater depth/ mastery challenge
