2 flipcharts with 18 hand drawn pictures featuring simple scenes that children can use to formulate their own sentences. Rather than dictate what the children write this resource gives children freedom to choose what sentences they will write.
I use this during registration first thing in the morning with my Year 1 class.
In (3033) each picture also has Phase 5 graphemes included to help children with spelling.
At the top of the page are symbols representing the 5 basic steps of independent writing.
1. Think the sentence. 2. Say the sentence out loud. 3.Count the words in the sentence. 4. Write all of the words down. 5. Check your sentence for full stops, capital letters and finger spaces.
Differentiation: More able children can be instructed to extend sentences including colours and emotions.
