Children will embark on an exciting adventure to explore the geographical wonders of Great Britain. This pack includes;

  1. Sequence of 6 lessons
  2. Unit Title Page
  3. End of Unit Assessment
  4. End of Unit Assessment Answers
  5. Key Question of Places (Great Britain and Northern Ireland)

This unit will introduce them to the concept of countries and capital cities, specifically focusing on England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, and understanding that Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom and not Great Britain. Using maps and simple compass directions, children will learn to plan a day out and navigate their way through familiar routes. They will also develop their observational skills by identifying human and physical features of the countries, such as mountains, rivers, and buildings. Furthermore, children will learn to distinguish between villages, towns, and cities, and understand the meanings of “urban” and “rural” environments. To further develop their geographical knowledge, they will study the unique features of London and locate key landmarks. Additionally, children will have the opportunity to plan a day out in each of the Great Britain capital cities, combining their new skills with fun and interactive activities.
