A PowerPoint that explains what persuasive writing is and examples of the features that need to be included in writing.

Task: Students receive a letter from the headteacher (letter included) saying that the Christmas party has been cancelled.

Students must write a persuasive letter to the principal outlining reasons not to cancel the party.

Supporting PowerPoint takes students through the planning process and highlights the features of persuasive writing (introduction, explaining your views, paragraphs, rhetorical questions, facts/data, persuasive language).
