Extremely detailed and informative notebook presentation (13 slides) about the ancient Olympic games. Provides a background to the Games and discusses the statue of Zeus, Sacred Truce and who was allowed to attend games. there is a true or false activity too. Children to have variety of statements and have to identify whether true or false. The statements are all true! Children will discuss all 5 days of Ancient Greek Olympics, including events. Also talks about spectators. This is a lovely lesson which meets the objectives of the new History National Curriculum. In the lesson plan the children are to design a programme for the Ancient Greek Olympic Games, with a day by day list of events. There are also word banks for tables and maps of Olympia which you can print and had out for children's reference. There is also a sheet with the events ready to print to assist less able children. The notebook and lesson plan is very detailed so you can teach this lesson without having to do any background research.

This is an appalling resource with nothing of any value in it. A page of basic vocabulary which is just typed out (no presentation) and a 'lesson plan' which is pretty much a list of stationary needed to teach any lesson. The image you see in the advert cannot be opened once downloaded.
