LO: Get excited about books!
I found this awesome idea on Pinterest for a "book tasting."

Basically, each table in the room has a different genre of books on it, set up like a restaurant with a book on each plate. The children have a certain amount of time to look at the cover, read the blurb, read a few pages and fill-in their menu card before moving to the next table.

There are a few books in the middle of the table so that if they sit down at a plate and they really don't like the look of the book, they can trade it for one in the middle.

I also brought around tiny "tasting" snacks at certain times throughout the event.

I designed a really simple double-sided menu that is FREE!

I used this in a Year 5 class but this could be adapted for any grade in school.

The class loved this afternoon :).

Included: book tasting menu, lesson plan.

This is a really helpful resource for book week! What genres did you use at each of the tables? thanks!
