There are ‘warm, hot and chilli’ (3 levels of differentiation) questions on mass with a word problem template, to help children break down, and recognise what word problems are asking them to do. As the children move from warm to hot, more conversion between kg and g is needed.
I have included a PowerPoint that explains how to use bar modelling and the template to solve these problems.
