In this document, I have analysed the language used in the KS2 Maths SATs reasoning tests since the sample papers in 2015 up to the most recent tests in 2018. The frequency of terms, use of comparative and superlative terms, use of synonyms and similar questions in different contexts are all discussed as well as suggestions for using this analysis in classroom practice.
