These activities are designed to build upon children’s existing vocabulary and to introduce them to new vocabulary.
The worksheet follows 3 parts. The first part focuses on children finding words that they do not understand or words that they feel are WOW! The second part is where children select some words from their spider diagram and find the definition using a dictionary. The final part gets children to use their new words in a sentence. This can be adapted through either a paragraph or sentence depending ability.
