This is a really striking display.
I find KS3 and KS4 kids never link the productions of digestion to the enzymes and to the food tests.
It shows the food sources, the polymers they contain, the monomers they are broken into, what they are used for in the body, which enzyme breaks it down and where the enzymes are produced, the reagents used and what a positive and negaive test looks like.
The clear to read display is great for retrieval exercises when teaching this topic. Key words like monomers, polymers and enzymes are represented with pictures to make recall easier.
I have attached a photo of my display that I did when I first made it. Took me hours to cut up so I’ve made this a no cut display now. It needs print each of the 21 sheets on A4 and get it laminated. The first slide is the headings…I’m afraid these will need a whizz with the guillotine but then it’s ready to put up in minutes. It really looks great up.
