Interactive lesson for KS3 or Low ability KS4, about Circuits and Circuit Symbols. Some knowledge is required on circuit symbols and series circuits for the starter however the starter and worksheet can be swapped around so that they are introduced to the various symbols before the activity.
Circuit boards or circuit building equipment is needed.
The human circuit activity requires an energy stick however the rope loop activity commonly used can be just as useful to help students picture what is happening in a circuit.
Extension is provided.

Hi! I like this resource, but I don't know how to use the 'SPLAT' game (I kinda get it) - how exactly do you play the game in your class please?

Hi, thank you for your feedback.
To play splat you split the class in half and have 1 person from each team come stand either side of the whiteboard with their backs to it (so they are facing the rest of the class). You then shout out the name of one of the symbols and they have to be the fastest to turn around and splat the correct symbol with their hands. The children get quite competitive so you could give them plastic flyswatters if you like and it will also help you see who spatted the symbol first. Play as many rounds as you like.
Thank you again, hope the students enjoy the lesson.
