KS3 Geography Curriculum Big Picture Overview

This is an extremely comprehensive, EDITABLE 39 page document outlining the foundations of a Geography curriculum. I have been developing this over the last few years and lost count of the hours that have gone into it. The document outlines the following areas:

• Detailed and simplified curriculum intent statements linked to disciplinary knowledge and substantive knowledge
• Details of how our curriculum is sequenced, structured, cumulative and inter-leaved
• Student friendly definitions of the key concepts underpinning each topic and criteria in which they are to make progress against
• Topic overviews showing how the curriculum intent is implemented
• An assessment grid to measure progress and impact of curriculum
• A curriculum graphic/visual
• Each topic overview includes a justification of why it is included and the rationale behind the sequencing as well as the objectives for each lesson, linked to the assessment grid.
• Links to the national curriculum
• An audit to show how both knowledge and skills are interleaved throughout the curriculum
• An example of a Big Picture student overview booklet given at the start of each topic.
