This is a single lesson on the reflection of light from a plane mirror.

The lesson is contextual and based on a driver involved in a car collision who may/may not have looked in their wing mirror. (The idea is they have to determine if the driver could see the lights of the car he overtook)

The lesson is fully differentiated into Low, Mid, High and GCSE tasks and can be fully adaptable to any scale of learning (e.g. AWOL, 9-1).

Pupils will:

1. Become forensic scientists to determine the law of reflection (requires ray boxes, mirrors and protractors. There are paper protractors available on the .ppt)
2. Draw/complete ray diagrams using the law of reflection for different scenarios (MID/HIGH worksheets are on the .ppt)
3. Determine the % chance that the driver was reckless or telling the truth
4. Write a conclusion based on their findings

Worksheets and materials available on the .ppt.
