This is a short Key Stage 3 Unit of work exploring romantic poetry from a selection of authors. Designed to prepare students in Year 8 and 9 for the demands of the new GCSE specification, the unit guides students through the conventions of genre and how the write analytically about unseen texts.
Poems are taken from a diverse range of authors and the unit builds towards a comparative essay. All resources are included on the powerpoint and each lesson includes a range of tasks and approaches. Lessons have built in differentiation with challenge activities marked with a *.
