The unit of work includes Power Points and a booklet for students to work through.
The unit will allow students to develop a better understanding of the different career options and pathways they can take. They will investigate their own personalities, strengths and areas of improvement. Students will also discuss prejudice, discrimination and stereotyping in the workplace, as well as their own rights and responsibilities at work.
Students will cover the following across the 6 sessions:
- The labour market
- My goals, strengths and aspirations
- My personality type
- Rights, responsibilities and stereotyping in the workplace
- The debate: ‘There are certain roles in the workplace which are only suitable for specific sexes. It is not discrimination, it is based on biology.’
