A free, first aid teaching resource for KS4 students. The resource pack includes a lesson plan, presentation and glossary to support teaching students about sepsis.

Sepsis can be a devastating condition, which can result in organ failure and death if not treated quickly. If the symptoms are identified and antibiotics given quickly, sepsis can be treated. Sepsis (or blood poisoning) is the immune system’s overreaction to an infection, where our immune system attacks our own tissues and organs.

Five people die with sepsis every hour in the UK, so raising awareness is critical in saving lives. This resource can be used to teach students about the symptoms of sepsis, and what to do if they recognise the symptoms in themselves or someone else.
