This is part of a series of Geography lessons designed for **KS3 **around the place of Africa. This was initially designed for Year 9 students in preparation for a GCSE in Geography but can easily be used with other year groups. This SOW is complete with fully resourced lessons, assessments, further reading and ideas for building in cultural capital to the curriculum.
There is clear sequencing of skills and knowledge throughout.
This lesson focuses on mapping Africa and in particular Kilimanjaro.
The objectives of the lesson are:
- Describe the social, economic & environmental context of Ghana.
- Analyse a population pyramid of Accra, Ghana.
- Explain the challenges of population change in Accra, Ghana.
