Language and literary techniques bundle

A series of 24 high-quality displays showing and explaining key English language and literary techniques, allowing pupils to develop their understanding of higher-level subject terminology. The techniques depicted are: alliteration antithesis assonance consonance euphemism irony onomatopoeia oxymoron personification rhetorical question sibilance zoomorphism symbolism dramatic irony dramatic monologue pathetic fallacy denouement non-chronological structure non-linear structure cyclical structure in medias res poetic justice deus ex machine foreshadowing Each eye-catching poster contains a clear title, explanation of the technique, an example of how it is used in a classic play, poem or film and a high-resolution image representing that text. The images and texts used are deliberately chosen to attract students' attention and to generate thought and discussion (e.g. Edgar Allan Poe's 'The Raven', Alfred Hitchcock's 'Psycho', Oscar Wilde's 'Lady Windermere's Fan' and Wilfred Owen's 'Dulce Et Decorum Est' to name just four of them). These would look great either displayed in class or the corridor and have been designed to be printed in A3, but this can be adjusted up or down depending on your requirements.
