These are Leap Year and Leap Day comprehension passages for KS2 that include a range of nonfiction Leap Day and Leap Year texts for Key Stage 2, whilst also giving you a selection of Leap Year reading comprehension activities. Each Leap Year passage has a nonfiction reading text, followed by four KS2 Grade standards-focused comprehension questions. The passages are varied in style, from instructions to poetry.

- Leap Day (A poem)
- Leap Year Fun Facts
- Leap Year - (an information text)
- Sandy’s Birthday Card (A birthday card to Sandy from her aunt to wish her a happy birthday on Leap Day)
- How to Make a Leap Year Frog Pencil Topper
What’s included?
- 5 KS2 leap year themed passages - one poem, one set of instructions, one fun facts, one informational text and a birthday card
- 20 KS2 appropriate questions - include questions on main idea and key details, quoting accurately from the text and vocabulary questions
- Black and white versions of all texts and activities
Your class will enjoy the variety of texts and questions. The passages are fun and engaging. The texts and questions could be printed out and given to the children as a pack. This would make it perfect for a supply lesson.
There’s not much to prepare… All you need to do is print the sheets out and hand to your class!
