Tests students on their ability to construct ray diagrams to show the position of the image formed when the object is:

  • 2f from a convex lens

  • 2f from a convex lens
  • <2f from a convex lens
  • less than a focal length from a convex lens

How to construct a ray diagram for a concave lens.

Also, completing ray diagrams to show how the paths of rays change as they pass through a concave / convex lens.

Students must also describe each image formed (real/virtual; upright/inverted; enlarged/diminished/same size) and give an example of where this type of lens is used.

Download includes full answersheet with completed ray diagrams.
