This lesson explore the theological basis of lent and encourages students to reflect on why the practice of giving up things we love/enjoy can be beneficial for ourselves and wider society.
A bundle is a package of resources grouped together to teach a particular topic, or a series of lessons, in one place.
This bundle comprises of three lessons complete with lesson plans. The trio begins with a lesson on Lent which urges students to reflect on the practice of fasting and abstinence before moving onto a lesson on Holy Week. This lesson draws on the Biblical events of the last week of Jesus' life. Finally the Easter lesson focus' on the symbolism of Easter day and concludes with a comparative exam question which reflects on the Easter and Christmas festivals. This bundle covers the key festivals of Christmas and Easter including advent, lent and holy week. Within the lessons are a range of activities to help students understand and reflect on the historical and theological basis of these festivals.
