These resources provide students with an introduction into the LGBTQ+ community, by exploring different identities and understanding the difference between ‘sex’, ‘sexuality’ and ‘gender’. Students also investigate the history of the LGBTQ+ community to understand how the communities’ legal rights and social treatment has changed over the last few hundred years; this is achieved through a timeline activity task. In their second lesson, students will explore religious attitudes to the LGBTQ+ community, with reference to all of the world’s major religions. Modern issues, like conversion therapy, will also be studied.

These resources are also available to buy as part of a larger 10 lesson unit of work entitled ‘Celebrating Diversity - Unit of Work’ available on my TES page.
