The purpose of this lesson is to encourage a deeper understanding of area and perimeter, prompting students to find links between the two. Students will practice their skills in finding the area of squares, rectangles, triangles and compound shapes, and in finding the perimeter of squares, rectangles and rectilinear compound shapes. Each section of the lesson has a low threshold with a high ceiling so that students of all abilities are easily challenged.
