This is a fully resourced 21 lesson SOW (approx 8-10 weeks) - including a reading assessment - for an extract-based study of a series of villains from literature (from Shakespeare, to 19th Century to contemporary texts). Aimed at Year 7, but could easily work for a Year 6 or Year 8 class as well. Skills covered include comprehension, making inferences, making comparisons, analysing language, and writing What?-How?-Why? paragraphs (strong links with GCSE Language skills).
