Developed as a response to PIe Corbetts 'Talk for Writing' and the encouragement that children should leave their year group having been exposed to a variety of quality writers, genres and with a bank of stories in their head that they can draw from.
Teachers sometimes choose to use a text in their literacy teaching, it may be stimulus for other subjects or just a class read, but we are encouraging that they read the books on their list throughout the year.
The list was developed with the teachers and teaching assistants contributions and discussed with staff.
