Looking for a way to introduce and analyse Act 1 Scene 5?

This resource:

  1. Introduces students to Shakespeare’s choice of form and what it can suggest to an audience. The key term ‘soliloquy’ is introduced and explored.

  2. It then includes slides (like the preview) which guides students’ analysis of Lady Macbeth in Act 1 Scene 5. Key quotes are highlighted accompanied with questions to challenge students.

  3. An initial impression of Lady Macbeth in Act 1 Scene 5 is established and then students are asked to explore an alternative reading using Taylor Swift’s lyrics as a point of comparsion.

This lesson is an excellent addition to any Macbeth unit of work and suitable for KS3 & KS4.
