This activity must be done with sufficient adults (ratio 5:1 or better). Wego for a walk and the children each have a sheet with a clipboard. They observe the colours of the cars that pass then, and complete the tally chart appropriately. We always make a point of going back to their results, and I ask them which the most/least popular colour car was. Sometimes the chilren also like to make a note of the other colour cars that they see.
