Making your writing more interesting

This English Language worksheet is designed to give students an opportunity to practise making their writing more exciting for the reader. They will use a variety of linguistic devices and are encouraged to think about alternatives to the usual “hot as the sun” and “dark as night” similes.

The activities can be used as extensions for those who have completed their class work or as practice in interventions.
