This resource covers:
KS3 (Ages 11-14):

  • writing for a wide range of purposes and audiences, including stories, scripts, poetry and other imaginative writing
  • reading critically through: knowing how language, including figurative language, vocabulary choice, grammar, text structure and organisational features, presents meaning

In this mythical story lesson, students will be asked to read poems and stories with ocean and environmental themes and encouraged to reflect on our interaction with these environments. Creative writing is encouraged, with students asked to write their own short piece of work which contains an environmental message.
