An activity sheet that combines the maths concepts of position and direction within a New Zealand ANZAC unit study (with a focus on World War 1 battles).
Students work on locating New Zealand battle locations in World War 1 using longitude and latitude.
Students will require access to an atlas or (more preferably) an online map app, such as Google Maps.
Students are provided with the recording sheet and an information card that contains information on three battles New Zealand was involved in, the dates of the battles and the country. Please note - they are not in order on the card!
Using the information cards and the coordinates on the recording sheet students then work out which battle took place in which country and when.
Includes; recording sheet, information cards, teacher instructions and answer sheet.
