I’m very proud of this resource as it took me many evenings to think through, but it works beautifully using the second hand car market to illustrate market failure.
The activity takes a little time to prepare, but I’ve included everything you need (except for a cash template - there are plenty of these online) including templates of cars and instructions on how to print them, along with how to run the activity. Students love it too, as there is an element of deception to it.
Excellent for illustrating market failure, the exercise lasts for around 40 minutes, so there is ample time to review what has gone on once complete.
