GCSE resource suitable for AQA Physics, to help students get a feel for the power ratings of appliances through a matching activity. These two sheets are not mine- they were originally posted by Kate M Flynn. However, I have modified the rating of the fridge-freezer to allow for a more meaningful comparison with the other appliances as it will not be running at full power for the whole day. Students can then use my calculation sheet to practise E=Pxt. They can predict which appliance will transfer the most energy before they do the calculations. The times given all need converting to seconds to give students further practice. A file with the answers is also included.

This is an excellent resource, both to give students a feel for the power rating of different familiar appliances, and to do the calculations on energy transferred. Many thanks both!
