This is an extended learning project set to every student in KS 3 based upon planning a trip from the school gates to see how far they could get in 24 hours with a fairly small budget. The maths teachers introduced the work, students then were given four weeks to produce something. It was collected in by the maths teachers and peer marked using the mark sheet on the back of the resource. This was highly successful assessment method although it depended on the interest and leadership of the maths teacher. It could be done in 20 minutes during a lesson and children were generally very effective at assessing. The work produced has been used to create displays across the department and the school.
