This pack includes a 5-day unit of work in which the learning is the multiplication of 3 digit numbers by a one digit number.
Over the course of the 5 days, the journey of the learning progresses for all children due to the provision of the less able children up to the more able children (through various investigations).
The pack is all set up and complete to simply print off and teach with. Attached are suggested WALTs ('We are learning to's'), however you school may have a different policy in place for your learning WALTs/learning objectives.
The 'P' in P skills stands for 'pre'; this is simply a less challenging selection of questions in which less able children can access the learning, but still be challenged in their own way.
Each lesson is separated with a different number at the beginning of the file. The recommended way to use these resources are as follows:
- work way through the slips in the order of 'skill', 'application', 'reasoning' and 'greater depth'.
- the following day, dependant on the children's attainment the day before the children can start further in the stage because that is the level of challenge they require.
However, if you see a way to use these resources in a different way then let us know, so we can maybe improve our products for the future.
NB: some of the questions within these products have been used in line with WRH and NCETM resources. There may be some overlap.
