This art project teaches pupils about the Mexican Day of the Dead festival, and they then create their own skull pieces using watercolour pencils. They learn about Frida Kahlo and can create a short fact file. This can be developed into a piece inspired by her work. Pupils can then learn about the Mayans and create carvings (EZ tiles or soap), and/or textiles can then be introduced and Mexican skull cushions can be made.
