This lesson is designed for the new Migration Empires and People unit for the new specification AQA GCSE. Access to both exam board produced textbooks is needed.
Pupils start with a 'teach the class' activitiy based on the previous lesson, followed by a thinking task looking at the family tree of both Cnut and Aethelred.
Pupils then watch a video, identifying all the key events by all the key people at this time.
Pupils then use a partially filled in timeline and the textbooks to create a fully detailed timeline, considering the differences between Viking and Anglo-Saxon actions. Answer sheet included.
Pupils then fill in a diamond nine and create a comic strip summary.
