Use the large piggy bank for lower levels- you can start by just using pennies to make up a number to reinforce counting, same and different, 1-to-1 correspondence, or to identify the face value of coins up to £2 (resource has up to date British coins including the 2017 new £1 coin).
Middle levels can use the 4 smaller piggy banks to work out how to combine coins to make a set amount (if laminated they can be reused by either using a non permanent whiteboard marker or using laminated numbers as shown in the example photo).
Higher levels can use the 4 smaller piggy banks to work out more complex combinations of coins and then to rank them using ordinals (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th). They can also explain which piggy bank had the greatest/least amount. They can also be asked to work out the difference between each piggy bank (great to practise subtraction).
