This is Part B. Part A is available too.
The second part of a perfect pair of resources to help children compare fractions to a half. Through imagining food at a picnic, children are asked to work out whether food is being shared equally or if someone is ending up with more! There is further progression from worded questions comparing fractions to a half, to putting fractions into a table labelled ‘Less than a half’, ‘Same as a half’ and ‘More than a half’.
These resources (Part A and B) helped a tutee of mine who could not grasp this concept at all, show great understanding by the end of our lesson! I hope you find them useful too.
