Hi! This is a complete set of resources to teach Muliebrity by Sujata Bhatt. This poem is on the iGCSE curriculum as part of the SOngs of Ourselves anthology.
I’ve included everything I would want to put on each slide including dates, titles, LOs, and detailed analysis of language and structure for each part. There are biographical details and context slides as well as the BBC news article to introduce some of the concepts to students and there are plenty of games/activities to learn new vocabulary either in the poem or useful to describe the poem.
The final lesson assessment has an exam style question about the girl in Muliebrity which is broken down, planning is provided, as are sentence starters, paragraph success criteria, a mark scheme, self- or peer-assessment slides and a reflective plenary as well.
There should be more than enough for a lesson here so you can come back to some of the activities for revision. Enjoy!
The Powerpoint has too much information in one slide making it hard to read. There is also very little known about the poet and generally, very little material, much less information that if you were getting for free on google. Not worth 5 bucks.

I'm so sorry you feel this way! I've looked back over the slides and there is a lot of information on the slides which guide students through using impressive vocabulary to describe the poem. I hope you can amend it to be more suitable for your class. I would rather give too much than too little. However, like all my poetry slides, I try to give one slide of information about the poet so it can be printed out for the class as this isn't given any weight in the assessment objectives in itself but can lead higher ability kids to see the purpose behind the language, while other students can find it distracting. In this case, I thought it more important to give lesson time to the subject of the poem and the themes of the poem. It's a poem I would encourage students to write about to explore their own ideas once they've had time for class discussion. I did not tackle it early on in the anthology, personally, so the resources are enabling students to be more independent in reaching level 8 in their personal opinions and critical responses. I hope it at least saved you the time in structuring the lesson, using vocabulary, reading and discussing non-fiction texts describing the waste issues in India and the quiz on it, the assessment objectives, marking criteria, sentence starters, plenary, follow up ideas and fun feminist song with discussion questions. I thought I was already pushing it for time. Thank you for purchasing and let me know if I can make it up to you somehow.
