Multiplication - AQA Entry Level 3 Maths

This resource has been designed for students working towards the AQA Entry Level Certificate in Maths who are working at Entry Level 3. It contains an age-appropriate, 43-page workbook and a 90-slide PowerPoint lesson on multiplication.

These resources will help pupils to achieve these outcomes:

recall and use multiplication facts for the 3, 4 and 8 multiplication tables
multiply a two-digit whole number by a single-digit whole number
use inverse operations to find missing numbers
use and interpret multiplication in real-life situations for solving problems

Workbook

The 43-page workbook contains 13 information pages, 287 worksheets (with answers) 2 progress checks and a certificate of achievement. It is available in PDF and an editable PowerPoint version to enable editing of the resource. It can be used for classwork, homework, revision or as an independent learning pack.

PowerPoint Lesson

The editable, 90-slide PowerPoint lesson clearly explains how to multiply a two-digit number by a single-digit number, how to use a multiplication grid, how to carry out multiplication using a calculator and how to find a missing number using the inverse. It provides many examples and opportunities for pupils to practise these skills. It also contains real-life problems that involve multiplication to find the answer. The PowerPoint contains links to two videos on multiplication and example exam questions. It is an ideal resource to introduce the multiplication component of the specification and for revision purposes.
