This is a murder mystery, escape room based activity aimed at KS3-KS4 students. It is aimed at mixed ability groups, so it is ideal for vertical tutor groups. It is expected to take one hour to complete in total, but can be split into 5 10 minutes sessions for each activity. This allows the resource to be the perfect starter for a week of mathematics classes.

The content covered includes cryptography, Ken Ken puzzle solving, graph reading of Newtons cooling law, speed=distance/time, general maths knowledge questions and trigonometry of blood splatters. There are hints along the way to make the activity accessible by varying age groups. For example, similar triangles can replace the trigonometry approach to solving blood splatter analysis.

This is part of a university based project for communicating mathematics. Feedback is a crucial part of this module. Please fill out the Google form at the end if you participate in the activity.
