I tried this with my current Y5 class, as there wasn't anything on writing music lyrics. The song I used is the &'Melting Point of Wax&'; by an American alternative rock quartet named 'Thrice&'. The song is told from the point of view of Icarus and his feelings leading to his acrimonious death.
