Each ASD pupil has a map of their own which is placed at their desk when they come into the classroom. The icons are given for them to place on their map to show them what type of activities are going to be done in the lesson. This lowers the opportunity for them to become anxious about what they may be asked to do in the lesson and also gives them an opportunity to tell you if they are going to have a problem with any specific parts of the lesson.
