Another useful PRESENTATION/RESOURCE based on RECOGNISING and SELECTING PERSUASIVE LANGUAGE in a FORMAL SPEECH (Donald Trump’s Victory Speech Nov 2016). Particular focus on the NEW EDUQAS iGCSE ENGLISH LANGUAGE SYLLABUS, COMPONENT 2. Includes controversial quotations, step-by step-tasks, ASSESSMENT OBJECTIVES and specific PERSUASIVE LANGUAGE DEVICES used in SPEECHES. In addition, a copy of an edited version of Trump’s speech plus an added VIDEO LINK of the speech itself attached. A good comparison with Barack Obama’s Campaign Speech 2007 (see additional resource in my shop). Could be adapted to suit any SOW or ENGLISH iGCSE SYLLABUS based on the READING and WRITING of SPEECHES and identifying PERSUASIVE LANGUAGE TECHNIQUES.
