Mnemonics are tools that aid memory. The aim of mediamnemonics is to generate a range of mnemonics specifically designed to make media revision far more effective. Tried and tested on Year 11 students at an Essex academy, they have been created by an experienced media teacher with 22 years of media subject leadership who holds an MA in Film and TV studies. English resources have been created by a teacher with 16 years of teaching experience in a secondary school.

As revision for WJEC GCSE Media, this resource uses mnemonics to help students understand and REMEMBER the following key areas of the newspaper exam:
The 12 features of newspaper front pages
The 8 headline techniques
The 10 News Values
Each PowerPoint introduces the concept with a range of examples, all defined, and then provides a visual and written mnemonic to enable students to RECALL ALL 30 key terms on demand.
In addition to the 3 lengthy PowerPoints, a presentation is also provided that introduces mnemonics and memory techniques, ideal for a Year 11 assembly as students embark on their revision programme.
