This is a HUGE 30+ page resource designed to support teaching students about Noongar Country (Western Australia) in your Stage 2 or Stage 3 classroom. The primary texts used are the Indigenous Dreaming stories of Ngaawily Nop and Noorn. These books are created through the Wirlomin Noongar Language and Stories Project.

These two books are used as mentor texts for the Stage 3 Unit 7 unit “Imagery, Symbol and Connotation”, however this resource completely stands alone and does not need to be integrated with this, or any other, unit of work.

The two meticulously crafted student workbooks are aimed for use by Stage Two and Stage Three students, and are also designed to complement elements of the History and Geography curriculum content for these stages . There is also a strong theme in these books of conservation and togetherness. These workbooks are your perfect teaching companion to teach students about the depth and richness of First Nations culture.

Also included is a set of ten full-colour Literature Circle Task Cards. Activities are not only designed to be completely independent, but involve a high-degree of student choice to build engagement. Persuasive, informative and imaginative writing prompts are included, as well as integrated Creative Arts activities.

All printables for literacy tasks are included, and many of these can be adapted for many other books, both fiction and non-fiction.

Also included is a full-colour set of informative posters based on the six seasons of Noongar country. These seasons are a fundamental element of Noongar culture and can be used for a range of associated tasks and discussions.
