Complete set of PowerPoint lessons (9) for OCR A-Level History: Paper 2 - Democracy and Dictatorships in Germany 1919-63, Chapter 3: The collapse of Weimar democracy and the rise of Nazism. Designed to accompany the Layton ‘Access to History’ [second ed] textbook. All lessons designed to a high standard based around principles of cognitive science including dual coding and starter quizzes that enable interleaved retrieval practice of content from across the paper as students progress. Lessons are structured to build on prior learning and are designed to enable a variety of teaching approaches; opportunities for explicit instruction, structured student debate and exam practice are all present. The unit ends with a scaffolded essay task that allows pupils to apply their knowledge to an exam-style essay question. Lesson content features a range of impactful activities as well as opportunities for further reading to challenge students whilst also being accessible to lower prior attainers too. Powerpoints are accompanied by all necessary resources including model answers and hand outs.
