This is a complete lesson covering sections 5.1.5 g and h of the OCR Biology specification- organisation of the nervous system and structure of the brain. It starts with the organisation of the nervous system into both structural and functional groupings. It the gives students the chance to practise working out which system different actions belong to. It then goes on to cover the structure and function of the human brain including the cerebrum, cerebellum and medulla oblongata. It closes by examining the link between homeostasis and the autonomic nervous system.
The lesson includes a starter, full notes, various student led activities and a differentiated summary at the end.
All answers are included.
I actively try to reduce photocopying, so all of the lesson resources are within the PowerPoint rather than as extra sheets.
