A ready to use scheme of work based on Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens. There are 6 documents, each with 4-5 different activities - very easy for students to follow. Suitable for year 6 or 7 - adaptable and fully editable.

The activities are incredibly varied and include: reading comprehension tasks with extracts from Oliver Twist included, writing activities (descriptive writing, diary and letter writing, persuasive writing), research tasks, creative tasks (including a sketch of a scenes, a poster), dictionary work tasks, and tasks which include links to BBC bitesize online lessons.

Excellent resources to use alongside your own teaching in the classroom, to use for remote/home learning, as homework booklets, for cover lessons or distanced home learning. There are boxes for students to write/work in for each activity.

Ideally, students will need to have watched any film version of Oliver Twist to understand the plot (or have read a short version). The resource for week 1 includes a link to the 1948 film.
