This booklet of chapter by chapter questions on Karen McManus’ contemporary American novel is a genre based study guide focusing on the novel as crime fiction. These questions assume that students have already been introduced to the fundamental conventions of the crime fiction genre such as the detective, suspects, inciting crime, red herrings and complex twists and turns in the plot line. The study booklet also contains language based questions to assist students with their understanding of grammar and literary/language techniques. These questions can be used collaboratively in class after reading chapters together, or can be set for individual study time.
